Akshaya Patra, USA forms Advisory Board

In 2009, Akshaya Patra reached its first target of serving 1 million children ahead of schedule. Today, our mission is to serve 5 million school-going underprivileged children across India with freshly cooked mid-day meals by 2020. With this in mind, The Akshaya Patra Foundation, USA has formed an Advisory Board of distinguished luminaries to provide strategic input that will take the Foundation’s efforts to the next level.
Among the first to join the Advisory Board are Deepak Chopra, Founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, N.R. Narayana Murthy, Founder-Chairman of Infosys Technologies, Nitin Nohria, Dean of Harvard Business School and Fareed Zakaria, author, journalist and host of CNN’s GPS.
“With their support and advice Akshaya Para can reach greater heights in its aspiration to reach 5 million children by 2020,” said Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of The Akshaya Patra Foundation-Bangalore, heartily welcoming the new members.
“Akshaya Patra is a perfect example of what happens when creativity and compassion come together,” said Deepak Chopra, echoing the views of his counterparts.
