Grand Gaura Purnima Celebrations at ISKCON Bangalore

ISKCON Bangalore celebrated Gaura Purnima, the festival which commemorates the transcendental appearance of the most munificent incarnation of Lord Krishna - Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu 526 years back.

Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the great apostle of love of God and the father of the congregational chanting of the Holy Name of the Lord advented at Sridhama Mayapura of Navadvipa in Bengal, on the Phalguni Poornima evening in the year 1407 Sakabda (corresponding to February 1486 by the Christian calendar). His purpose was to show to the world how to surrender to Lord Krishna.

At Sri Radha Krishna Mandir of ISKCON Bangalore, the utsava Deities of Their Lordship Sri Sri Nitai-Gauranga received a very grand abhisheka from 108 kalashas. They then received wonderful offering of 108 dishes. Shayana arati was performed, with accompaniment of a special song glorifying Lord Chaitanya. Their Lordishps were taken in a pallakki with the singing of the most ecstatic kirtanas.
